Flowers Our Ministry Team We are very fortunate to have a large number of people providing leadership across the five parishes of the Skegness Group. This is no accident. Over the years the Churches have identified people in whom they have confidence and encouraged them to make more of their Christian commitment through the Diocesan Training Scheme. The Diocese has a Local Ministry Coordination Team in Lincoln and they have recently reviewed the scheme. They have put in a more lexible approach to training and support that is tailored to local communities and values people's experience and previous learning. If there is someone in whom you have confidence to train for formal ministry, please drop the Rector a note at the Parish Office with the name of that person with a short paragraph as to why you think they would be a good addition to our ministry team.
Current accredited Lay Ministers are: Gwen Drury, Jean Graham, Linda Harwood, Tina Sparkes, Beryl Damms, Pam Allott
On-going Activities Our Chaplaincies and Courses support many people. At St Mary, Winthorpe we run a Church-sitting project with 35 volunteers and the new carpet has been laid. Our fundraising for the improvements to St Peter & St Paul, Ingoldmells, has brought in enough to do all the work of modernisation and repair needed to this fine old building; the new toilet and kitchen were installed in May. The roof at St Nicholas, Addlethorpe is renewed. We are beginning to implement our plans for the re-ordering of St Matthew's Church. Obtaining quotes and fundraising for the next phase of improvements to St Clement's Hall continue. Parish Foundation Course On 7 January we started the Parish Foundation Course, an introduction to Christian Study led by the Rector of Mablethorpe, the Reverend Alison Harvey. This will take place at St Peter's Hall, Ingoldmells. Already 25 people in our deanery (3 from the Skegness Group) have signed up. If you are interested to attend please contact Malcolm France at the office.
